
Entebbe Municipality and the pearl of Africa (Uganda) at large didn’t leave the Wuhan city International Marathon on Sunday empty-handed after John Kateregga emerged winner in the 21km race category. John Kateregga crossed the 21km race finish line with a timing of 1:05:11 hrs. Shortly after emerging winner, the news of Kateregga’s victory quickly spread and went viral on different social media platforms Face book, WhatsApp and Twitter. Uganda Police Force and popular social Media guru Sarah Kagingo quickly took to their twitter accounts to praise John Kateregga for his resounding and well-deserved victory.
Other two participants Felix Elikana Kiplagat and Robert Lubega finished 10th and 11th respectively in the 42km race category. All the three participants John Kateregga, Felix Kiplagat and Robert Lubega earned themselves medals.

The biggest beneficiaries and ultimate winners of the Wuhan, China Marathon are the people of Entebbe Municipality who will benefit in a wider spectrum of developmental programs.
Besides promoting and marketing Entebbe Municipality in China, Mayor Vincent Kayanja’s lobbying efforts and prowess persuaded the Wuhan City Mayor and the Chinese community in Uganda courtesy of the Chinese Embassy in Uganda to host the Entebbe Marathon that was a huge success.

Uganda contingent to Wuhan City International Marathon was led by Mayor Kayanja Vincent DePaul, respective Divisional Chairmen Michael Mutebi (Division ‘A’), Stanley Namayirira (Division ‘B’), Town Clerk Charles Magumba and several other Municipal Council officials.
