The United Kingdom (UK) has imposed sanctions on Ugandan politicians including the Speaker of Parliament Anita Among for reportedly “stealing from the poorest communities in Uganda.” This is the first time the UK has used the Global Anti-Corruption Sanctions regime on individuals suspected of being involved in corruption in Uganda. The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has this Wednesday celebrated his 50th birthday by planting trees and donating to charity. In an effort to address the Malaria deaths in Uganda, the government of China has donated over 500,000 packs and doses of anti-malarial medicines to Uganda worth Five billion Uganda Shillings (UGX 5bn). Entebbe Municipality authorities have raised the red flag over suspected dubious sale of Kitubulu Central Forest Reserve to a shady company whose address or owners has been a subject of a wild goose chase.
