Five staff of Entebbe International Airport have been remanded to prison on allegations of illegally dealing in minerals with intent to defraud. According to the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, the 5 togetner with one businessman were charged at the Entebbe Chief Magistrate’s Court with dealing in minerals without a license, mingling minerals with intent to defraud and smuggling minerals on Friday 11th October 2024. Police in Katwe are investigating a suspected murder case that occurred on Wednesday at Ndejje-Kibutika Mirimu cell, Makindye Sabagabo. The victim, Ssalongo Musoke Fred, a 68-year-old businessman and resident of the area, was found dead behind a chapati kiosk, meters off the main road. Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango confirmed the incident. According to Onyango, the police responded promptly, recording witness statements and documenting the scene.
