Entebbe Municipality Mayor Kayanja Vincent DePaul has vowed to die with anyone who will interfere or tamper with the voting process that is scheduled to start next week on February 18. Mayor Kayanja who was speaking at a campaign rally in Banga- Nakiwogo on Monday revealed that there is a plot by outgoing MP Hon. Muhammad Kawuma to disorganize the electoral process to ensure that he is kicked out of office. Mayor Kayanja disclosed that Hon. Kawuma has accused him on several occasions of conniving with his cronies in Municipal council to illegally allocate the piece of land located along portal road plot 45-53 to an investor whose identity has never been established.
Hon.Kawuma who was speaking during the Muslim Juma prayers on Friday at the contentious land described Mayor Kayanja as a total loser who has frustrated the Muslim community on their quest to have their 5.2 acre piece of land get a title. Hon. Kawuma also rallied all Muslims in Entebbe during a protest march to RDC Kirabira’s office over the contentious land to deny Mayor Kayanja votes because according to him he has failed to promote the interests of the Muslim community in Entebbe.
However Mayor Kayanja pointed fingers at Hon. Kawuma for telling lies and sowing seeds of hatred ahead of next week’s polls.
Hon. Kawuma is full of intrigue, lies and is good at manipulating people to achieve his own selfish gains. I’ve never sold the contentious piece of land to any investor and he is just cooking stories to soil my name, Mayor Kayanja said during a campaign rally in Banga Nakiwogo on Sunday.

Mayor Kayanja also presented a petition that was drafted and delivered to President Museveni in 2009 by former Mayor Stephen Kabuye and to take immediate action after unidentified people in 2006 fraudulently owned and sold the Muslim land to RWS Enterprises Ltd and went ahead and processed a land title against the Muslim’s running lease. The controversial piece of land was given to the Muslims by the then President Idi Amin Dada in 1970’s to construct a mosque but the project stalled because of squabbles and fights. Mayor Kayanja, his political Assistant and MP Aspirant Kakembo Michael, DP Spokesperson and Entebbe Municipality Division ‘B’ LCV Councilor Aspirant Maggwa Ssali and Entebbe Municipality Democratic Party Chairman Senoga Mivuule revealed that Soldiers are arresting their supporters and putting them behind bars on trumped up charges. They revealed that their supporters are being threatened by some individuals in the army and have accused the police of turning a blind eye. They have vowed to put Entebbe on fire if the accused army officers attempt to disorganize the electoral process to favor NRM Party candidates.

We are warning two army officers who have crossed their boundaries and are behaving like untouchables. They have usurped police’s powers and treating us (DP) like enemies but we are ready to battle with them and we have the capacity to burn down Entebbe Municipality if the ground isn’t leveled, Mayor Kayanja stressed.
He added:
There is no one who has monopoly on anger, even President Museveni got angry and went to the bush after the 1980 polls were rigged. We can rally our supporters and put Entebbe on fire if the election process is tampered with.
