Anti-riot Police on Wednesday dispersed rowdy football fans from the Bugonga football play ground with tear gas in Entebbe. The police swung into action after the rowdy foot ball fans started throwing stones to the referee during the match between Busiro FC and Gomba FC that ended prematurely. The police intervened after the rowdy fans had become a nuisance and chaotic after a drinking spree. Many of the football fans started drinking from morning and by 4pm, they were zonked up and making noise. There was a lot of confusion at the Fisheries training institute main gate when some football officials were selling fake tickets at three thousand (Shs 3000/=) instead of the five thousand (Shs5,000/=) shillings. The football match which was still nil-nil for both sides ended prematurely and the referee had to flee the chaotic scene after the rowdy fans accused him of failing to award a penalty to Busiro FC.
