

National Resistance Movement Party Flag bearer for the parliamentary seat Rose Tumusiime on Wednesday took her campaigns to Kitooro a constituency where she began her illustrious political career 26 years ago as an RCI Kitooro Central. In her campaign message which has largely been consistent she promised to fight unemployment in the area through partnering with local and foreign organizations that provide hands on skills in the youth. She noted that majority of the youth are idle and are wasting away in drugs.
“Many of the youth are idle with no work. There are various organizations both local and foreign that we can partner with to train the youth in various skills to enable them start their own jobs. She said.
She also promised to help widows who are victims of domestic violence access free legal services and also promised to revitalize the NAADS programme in Entebbe to ensure that all benefit from the program. She noted that the current NAADS program is designed for people in villages but Entebbe is largely urban with no space to practice farming.
She also promised to deal with the man power crisis in health centers including the newly refurbished Entebbe Hospital. She noted that many of the health centers aren’t performing to the required standard because they lack man power.
Other speakers included Mayoral candidate Joseph Ssesanga who promised to purchase water harvesting tanks for all government aided schools in the municipality. Ssesanga also promised to sort out the taxi park related issues as well as help Boda Boda riders acquire Motorbikes at relatively cheaper prices. He noted that many Boda Boda riders are struggling to pay their hefty Boda Boda loans. He pledged to purchase an ambulance which will transport the sick to different hospitals.
The Wakiso District NRM Chairman Abdul Kiyemba morale boosted the campaign rally and urged Entebbe Municipality residents to shun DP propaganda and vote the NRM at all levels.
