Netherlands based Professional boxer Farouk Daku will be seeking his first African Boxing Union (ABU) belt on Sunday at the Nakivubo Stadium. Farouk who began his professional boxing career in 2005 will be taking on 37 year old Tanzanian Saidi Mbelwa in a 12 round super middle weight title. The 30 year old has fought in 27 professional fights (won 18 with nine knock outs, lost 8 (knock out 1 and drawn 1) while Saidi has won 31 with 20 knock outs, lost 16 with 6 knock outs and drawn 4 totaling to 52 fights.
“I’m in fine shape, I’ve been training regularly. I want to reassure my fans that I’ll win and be crowned King of Africa. I’ve watched a few you tube videos of Saidi fighting, he is a strong fighter but since I’m at home and with support from my fans I am confident I’ll beat him” Daku said shortly after arriving at Entebbe International Airport.
