The Democratic Party President Sir Norbert Mao is carrying the party flag in the boiling political campaigns brewing up like hot magma. This follows after campaigning stiffly and caning his rival Dr. Lulume Bayiga last weekend at Katomi Kingdom Hotel in Entebbe. Mao walked away with 898 votes while Lulume bagged himself 360 votes only. Former Ugandan Vice President Prof. Gilbert Balibaseka Bukenya and Gen. David Sejusa attended the delegates’ conference and caused a lot of stampede in the hotel premises. Mao bounced back into office to run party activities after the party failing to have a new face to kick-out President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in the brewing Presidential campaigns in 2016.
It was in black and white that Dr. Lulume couldn’t win the brain game from his teacher just like Party Secretary General Mzee Nsubuga Birikerawo who bounced back with no dirty linen smeared to his name. Highly placed sources revealed that Lulume was just fooling around and flipping his fingers into a hot saucepan. Mao has proven a good brand to fight tooth and nail to kick –out the ruling NRM Party.
Maverick city lawyer and East African community legislator Mukasa Mbidde will be his right hand man after he was elected unopposed as Deputy Party President. Dr. Lulume’s supporters including his campaign secretary Kiwanuka Sembatya and aspiring youth MP Central Region have now swallowed their pain and resorted to eating humble pie after they were caned hands down.
