
President Yoweri Museveni and Commander in chief of the armed forces paid a courtesy call to residents of Entebbe Municipality at the Works Grounds on Wednesday. The big man finally kept his promise and paid the residents a visit after they pestered RDC Rose Kirabira for the last couple of months to bring the fountain of honour. The big man arrived at 10pm amidst loud cheers from the crowd that had anxiously waited for him.

In his remarks President Museveni thanked and officially commissioned the 1000 cadres who have been camping at works grounds for the last three weeks undergoing Mchaka Mchaka and patriotism lessons in revolutionary training, operational wealth creation, NRM System of Government, role of citizen in NRM Manifesto implementation, HIV/AIDS prevention and Judicial procedure. Museveni hailed the cadres for completing the course and urged them to preach the gospel of economic transformation and improving house hold incomes. He also commended Deputy RDC Rose Kirabira for successfully mobilizing and coordinating the Mchaka Mchaka program.


Museveni welcomed the 500 opposition supporters from the Democratic Party (DP), Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) and Forum For Democratic Change (FDC) who crossed to the NRM a couple of months ago and assured the nation that no wrong elements and the opposition would cause chaos in the country adding that the army and police force has stocked enough tear gas to deal with big headed characters and fellows like Besigye and Lukwago.


He emphasized the value of Education in freeing the mind of ignorance and engaging in commercial agriculture to increase household incomes which he termed as land based wealth creation. He also emphasized skills based wealth creation such as tailoring and designing hand crafts. He also donated Shs 20m to Atanayitayita Sacco and urged the residents to focus more on improving their house hold incomes adding that it was only way to fight the biting poverty.

The president also vowed to improve security on Lake Victoria by deploying boats with surveillance Radar systems to spy and deter wrong elements crossing into the country to cause havoc. He also vowed to settle the dispute among the Kasenyi residents who were evicted by the army years ago and have never been compensated. Museveni also vowed to settle a dispute among the Kitala and Mpala residents who were evicted by Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) to construct the Entebbe- Kampala Express Highway and have never been compensated.


The president also warned the residents to desist from bad habits such as boozing and having multi sexual partners to live healthy and product lives. Several Wakiso NRM Party officials including former Mayor Stephen Kabuye, Wakiso Woman MP Rose Mary Sseninde, Wakiso RDC Ian Kyeyune, Mayor Vincent Kayanja DePaul and lot’s of aspiring NRM MP’s and Councilors were around trying to capture the big man’s eye and shake his hand.
