The Mukono Municipality Woman Member of Parliament Betty Nambooze Bakileeke has bashed government over plotting to finish her off with poison. The Democratic Party Firebrand woman is pointing fingers at government for frustrating and delaying her travel plans to seek Medical treatment in South Africa ever since she developed life threatening abdominal complications a couple of weeks ago. Nambooze who was addressing a press conference at Ssiena Beach Hotel in Entebbe on Saturday said that several key politicians including Cerinah Nebanda died mysteriously while Hussein Kyanjo has been fighting tooth and nail for his life after he was rumored to be poisoned. She pointed fingers at President Museveni for failing to institute commissions of Inquiries to thoroughly investigate plots to assassinate opposition politicians through poisoning.
She thanked all her supporters and former FDC Presidential Candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye who connected her to several doctors in South Africa. She also thanked the speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga for the moral and financial support she rendered when she was in South Africa. Nambooze returned last night after a two weeks stay in South Africa where she had been advised by her personal Doctor Lulume Bayiga to seek advanced treatment after Kampala Medical and Imaging Center failed to satisfactorily treat her.
Responding to claims that government could have poisoned Nambooze, some NRM Party officials who spoke on condition of anonymity said that Nambooze is well known for making reckless statements and telling lies. They dismissed her allegations as baseless and aimed at gaining cheap public popularity.
