Ministry of Local Government has officially granted Entebbe Municipal Council to create more villages in Entebbe Municipality so as to address the Administration Challenges. The villages to be sub-divided include Katabi-Busambaga, Lugonjo-Nakiwogo, Makusa and Lwamunyo islands in Kigungu and Mayanzi also in Kigungu.

Sources at Entebbe Municipal Council have revealed that Katabi-Busambaga and Lugonjo-Nakiwogo will be subdivided into three villages while Mayanzi will be subdivided into two villages.

“We as Municipal Council are glad that Ministry of Local Government and the Electoral Commission had our appeal and have accepted to create more villages in Entebbe. Katabi-Busambaga and Lugonjo – Nakiwogo are the most densely populated villages in Entebbe with a population of about 6000 voters. These two villages are large and by subdividing them we shall have solved on the administrative challenges that the respective LC1 Chairmen face. We hope that by subdividing the villages, Government will bring services closer to the people,” Mayor Kayanja revealed.
