Ministry of Health (MOH) through their Public Private Partnership (PPP) has mandated Dr. Benon Biryahwaho’s Center for Private Health and Social Adjustment (CEPRIHESA) located along Gower’s Road in Entebbe to start offering HIV/AIDS treatment to patients in a bid to scale up Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) services beyond the hospitals and health sub districts to reach the health centre (HCII) Level.
According to a letter that entebbenews has obtained, Ministry of Health (MOH) has partnered with Dr. Benon’s Centre for Private Health to improve the capacity of the Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) because of the various challenges met by government health facilities in providing HIV/AIDS Care and treatment.
“We (Centre for Private Health and Social Adjustment) are grateful for the trust and confidence Government and Ministry of Health (MOH) has bestowed on us. Our focus as a newly accredited centre for Antiretroviral (ART) therapy is to consolidate the existing ART Services and improving monitoring and retention in care for patients on HIV Treatment. Centre for Private Health will access the Antiretroviral drugs (ARVs) from the Ministry of Health ART Program through Joint Medical Store,” Dr. Benon disclosed.
He added
All the HIV/AIDS Patients on the Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) program will access the Antiretroviral drugs (ARVs) at no cost because Government through Ministry of Health has fully paid for them. All we shall require the patients to do is to pay an affordable fee for the consultation and HIV testing, Hemoglobin Estimation, Urinalysis and complete blood count. I appeal to HIV/AIDS Patients to feel free and visit Centre for Private Health because we have the facilities and equipment to implement the ART Program and with our team of professionals, the treatment will be handled efficiently, conveniently and with utmost confidentiality. After the treatment we shall monitor the clinical progress of the patients to ensure that they remain on medication.
