The China Communications Construction Company Uganda has partnered with Entebbe Municipal council authorities to sponsor the Entebbe charity marathon 2017. The Chinese company bosses made the official communication on Wednesday at a press conference organized by Mayor Vincent Kayanja DePaul aimed at fundraising for the underprivileged in Entebbe municipality. The Chinese company deputy managing director Ding Jian Ming made the official communication while handing over a
dummy cheque worth thirty million shillings (shs30M) to facilitate in organizing the first edition of the Entebbe charity marathon 2017 that will be held on the 19th/March/2017 in Entebbe municipality.
The marathon is expected to attract over six thousand participants including the IGP Kale Kayihura who is the chief runner and other elite runners from different parts of the world including Wuhan city. The proceeds from the marathon will go towards helping the underprivileged including the Persons with disabilities (PWD’s) under the Modesta foundation. The best participants in the 42kms, 21kms and 10kms races will be accorded an opportunity to participate in the Wuhan international marathon. The participants are to pay shs20,000/= and shs 10,000/= respectively and the marathon is to start from Entebbe botanical gardens at 6am with routes via the Entebbe Express Highway and Entebbe central ward.(PEACOCK KAWEESA)
