High Court judge Esta Nambayo has ruled that security agencies acted in violation of Human Rights when they inflicted pain on Mityana Municipality Legislator Hon Francis Zaake as he was arrested distributing food in his constituency contrary to presidential directives on prevention of Covid19 last year. The Central Bank of Uganda (BOU) has revised the Cheque Limit of currencies from five countries downward by 50%. The reduced Cheque currency limits include; Ugandan shillings which was reduced from Shs20M to Shs10M, United States Dollar from $5500 to $2750, Euro from £4500 to £2275, GBP from €4400 to €2200 and Kenyan shillings from Kshs600,000 to Kshs300,000. French company, Egis Road Operation S.A, which was contracted by the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) to undertake Operation and Maintenance services on the Kampala—Entebbe Expressway, has subcontracted some of the work to local companies. The firm in particular has hired Ugandan companies; Pinnacle Security Limited and Abubaker Technical Services to provide security and other maintenance services on the highway. The Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary, Dr Diana Atwiine has said that the Ministry is clearing all the risk allowances for frontline health workers which were in arrears. With the surge in COVID 19 cases, the Ministry of Health hired contract workers and volunteers to support staff at Entebbe Hospital which was key in handling COVID-19 patients. Self-styled city lawyer Hassan Male Mabirizi has lost his father Muhammad Bazinduse Mutumba Ganaafa, who succumbed to Covid19 last weekend. In the same week, Mabirizi lost two of his sisters who were staying with the father. Another two relatives are still admitted in the intensive care unit battling the deadly virus. Temitope Balogun Joshua, popularly known as TB Joshua, a frontline Nigerian preacher and televangelist, has died, family sources say. Mr Joshua, the founder of The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN), died in Lagos on Saturday evening shortly after concluding a programme at his church. Beginning July 1, 2021, National Medical Stores (NMS) will shift from paper-based analog system and officially adopt an online-based system dubbed NMS + CSSP for ordering, tracking, monitoring, and delivery of all drugs and medical supplies. The adoption of an online-based system (NMS + CSSP) was confirmed by Moses Kamabare, the General Manager National Medical Stores.
