

Ruling National Resistance Movement flag bearer for the Entebbe Municipality MP seat Rose Tumusiime has pledged to provide widows with legal assistance once she is elected into office. Rose Tumusiime who was speaking at a rally held in Banga- Nakiwogo zone on Sunday noted that widows in Entebbe have on several situations fallen victims of family wrangles with no legal assistance to defend themselves in the courts of law.
Widows are suffering silently due to family related wrangles with no legal assistance to defend themselves in court. Some have lost their partner’s properties including land while others walk for years to acquire their late husband’s pensions. Once elected into parliament I’ll provide all widows with legal assistance to deal with some of their challenges. Tumusiime stated.
Rose Tumusiime who was accompanied by the other Flag bearers including Joseph Ssesanga who is seeking to unseat Mayor Kayanja urged the voters to entrust the NRM party with their votes ahead of the Feb.18 General elections and pledged to support the youth start their own ventures and income generating projects through working hand in hand with organizations that promote hands-on skills in the youth. She also promised to promote talent by supporting artistes, sports men and women in their different sports disciplines. On the question of NAADS Tumusiime noted that urban dwellers haven’t benefited from the program because urban centers have little space for farming and practicing Agriculture.
Very few people in urban centers have benefited from the NAADS program because there is little space for cultivating. I’ll revitalize the whole program in Entebbe to ensure that all residents benefit. She said.
She also promised to improve the lives of fishermen by helping them acquire standard nets. On the question of unemployment Tumusiime promised to work with different organizations in Entebbe Municipality to ensure that the residents are given first priority when employment opportunities arise.
She vowed to lobby for more health workers to fill the man power gap in the newly renovated and refurbished Entebbe Hospital. She promised to help Kigungu residents get near-by schools to avoid walking long distances to other areas to study.

The area is riddled by bad and impassable roads.
The standard of schools in the area is low and this forces parents to take their children to better schools elsewhere.
Women give birth in deplorable conditions due to the poor state of health facilities. Many women end up delivering their babies from the Army Barracks health facility in the area because the service delivery is better.
The residents also complained about the insecurity in the area which has resulted in increasing robberies.
Some complained that they haven’t benefited from the CDD funds.
