Entebbenews has positively learnt that Go-forward independent Presidential candidate Amama Mbabazi’s cordial relationship with Entebbe Municipality Mayor Kayanja Vincent DePaul is on the rocks. This follows Mayor Kayanja’s failure to honor a deal to hunt for votes for Mbabazi in Entebbe Municipality. According to reliable resources Mayor Kayanja is said to have received Shs23m from Amama Mbabazi to do clandestine ground work for him but he hasn’t been active. This according to the source has angered the Go-forward secretariat and Amama Mbabazi himself. Sources in the Go-forward camp in Entebbe also revealed that Mbabazi was totally dismayed after Mayor Kayanja failed to mobilize all Democratic Party flag bearers to campaign for him during a campaign drive they held around Entebbe after their nominations.
We expected Mayor Kayanja and his Democratic Party team to promote Mbabazi when they held a campaign drive around Entebbe after they had been nominated as flag bearers. Mbabazi’s campaign posters were sent but only a handful of them were seen on their cars during the campaign drive. the source disclosed.
According to the source the Go-forward secretariat is closely working with independent MP Candidate Ambrose Katuntu who is a more serious Mbabazi supporter unlike Mayor Kayanja who hasn’t yet done any ground work for him.
We discovered that Mayor Kayanja wasn’t of much of help to Mbabazi so we decided to get in touch with Ambrose Katuntu who has shown his support to JPAM. Katuntu even went a step further and established an office to coordinate Go-forward activities in Entebbe. the source added.
Other candidates who were desperately lobbying to carry the Go-forward flag in Entebbe included Michael Kakembo the DP Flag bearer, independent candidates Abuabaker Walusimbi and John Baleke.
Kakembo Michael, Abubaker Walusimbi and John Baleke lobbied to carry the Go-forward flag in Entebbe but when the secretariat carried out it’s research, none of them was doing ground work for JPAM. a source privy with information at the Go-forward secretariat revealed.
The source also disclosed that Mbabazi’s target is to force president Museveni into a second round by denying him a 51 percent majority vote.
At first people only supported JPAM for money but now he has streamlined everything and assembled a team that is capable of delivering him victory. the source disclosed.
The source also disclosed that an independent MP Candidate is said to have pocketed Shs50m from Mbabazi but later switched allegiance back to President Museveni and has consistently denied the accusations.
