Newly appointed National Council of Sports General Nicholas Muramagi has applauded the Uganda Wood ball Federation (UWBF) for it’s exemplary and diligent leadership ever since it was formed a few years ago. Muramagi who was speaking at the closure of the two day 1st African Wood ball Workshop that was held at the Nabinoonya Resort Beach in Entebbe from Wednesday 16- Thursday 17, 2016 lauded the Wood ball fraternity for moving a step further to spread the sport across the African continent.
The Wood ball fraternity has done much to spread the sport across the African continent. I would like to congratulate all the participants from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan and Burundi for successfully completing the two day work shop. My appeal to all of you is to promote the sport in respective countries, Muramagi said.
He added:
I appeal to all other associations to learn from wood ball because many hardly conduct trainings and workshops. We as National Council of sports (NCS) are interested in associations that deliver results and we intend to start ranking all associations according to performance. The best performing associations will be ranked in Group A and will get 80 percent funding from NCS. The underperforming associations will be ranked in Group B and C.
Muramagi also lauded the Taiwanese, Chinese Community in Uganda and Ndejje University for supporting the Uganda wood ball Federation.

Meanwhile the UWBF president Paul Mark Kayongo congratulated all the workshop facilitators for organizing a successful workshop. He urged the participants to be advocates of Wood ball in their respective countries.
The Uganda-Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce Jeff Lin, Ndejje University Vice Chancellor Fredrick Kakembo and the leader of the Chinese community in Uganda Mrs. Wang graced the closing ceremony of the workshop.
