
The 17th JBG Golf Open Tournament gets underway today Thursday with 14 Pros teeing off at Entebbe Golf course. The fourteen pros will be in action in a two day event and will climax on Saturday 4th October with over 200 participants taking part in the event. The mode of play will be stable ford and this will have (Handicap 6-36).
The theme of this year’s Golf Tournament will be: Transport Engineering Innovations and the Tee off time will be 7am-2pm and according to Club Pro Lagoro the Managinig Director Gauff Engineers will also launch Hole no.1 at 6.30pm on Saturday.
Defending champion Wanzala Fred will have to battle it out with 2014 Ugandan open Pro Champion Deo Akope.
The Group: (Wanzala Fred Opio Silver Mutawe Herman Olayo George), (Saidi Mawa, Byamukama Araali, Odokonyero), (Ocici Grace, Anguyo Dennis, Akope Deo), Toolit Brian, Ayella Gerald, Opio Onito, Odong Steven.
Club Pros who have missed out on this year’s event are Dickson Lagoro, Geoffrey Mande and Mwesigwa, they have been tasked with organizing the three day event.
The 16th JBG Golf Tournament held last year and which attracted 159 players saw Okwi Timothy emerge as the overall winner men with 74 points while Okura Maureen emerged as the overall winner ladies with 77 points.
