Football coach, Sam Ssimbwa, has denied the trending allegations that he separated from his wife, singer Sophie Nantongo.
Recently, Sophie Nantongo held her sold-out concert at Kampala Serena Hotel, and pulling out her husband, Sam Ssimbwa, on stage to dance added an extra layer of excitement to the event.
After the event, Sam Ssimbwa addressed press members, debunking the rumors that he had called off his marriage to the singer. The couple had not been publicly seen together for long, generating speculations that their union was no more.
Simbwa, however, revealed that he is a busy man and has had many coaching jobs that sometimes keep him out of the country. He also explained that he is an introvert with less interest in going out for concerts or socializing.
“I spend all my time on football. I coach the Uganda Cranes and before that I was coaching different coaches in different countries. I am busy with my football jobs. Besides, I’m not an outgoing person. I only came out to support my wife at her concert but I think I have taken over a decade without going to music events,” he told Spark TV.
He emphasized that their marriage is still strong and that he has done everything he can to support his wife and her job.
“But she is a married woman and when she is at home, she fulfills her wife duties like taking care of our home, the children and I. if it is time for music, she does that; I can never stop her from doing something I found her doing. I approached her knowing her job and that is what I signed up for,” he said.
