A couple of NRM Party youth and top officials in Entebbe are bitter and disappointed after one of their own Modesta Tezityabiiri allegedly played a foxy game during the Person’s With Disabilities (PWD’s) polls that were held on Friday at Entebbe Municipal Council. The angry NRM youth and party officials have pointed fingers at Modesta after she allegedly pocketed Shs 4m and Shs 3m from DP’s Fred Kiryowa to play a foxy game during the polls to elect persons With Disabilities (PWD’s). High placed sources among the PWD’s pinned down Modesta Tezityabiiri over pocketing cash from Fred Kiryowa to lock out and frustrate the NRM Flag bearer Mweseza Bob. 14 NRM PWD’s voted for DP’s Fred Kiryowa while 05 PWD’s voted for Mweseza Bob. The NRM youth chopped wires and turned rowdy after they discovered that Kiryowa Fred was leading in the race. The angry NRM Youth pounced on the two presiding officers and grabbed the Declaration Results forms from them and tore them into pieces in addition to vandalizing the Electoral commission voting materials. The bitter youth are demanding that the PWD’s polls be cancelled and repeated again.

The Entebbe Municipality Division ‘A’ Returning officer Samuka Ben confirmed the bloody incident and said that the Wakiso Returning officer Sarah Bukirwa will take the final decision over the matter.
Meanwhile the NRM Publicity Secretary Matovu Figo and other party officials accused Modesta Tezityabiiri of betraying the NRM Party like Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus Christ and confirmed that she has been expelled from the NRM party until further notice.
We as the NRM Party in Entebbe have officially expelled Modesta Tezitya Biiri because we have reliably been informed by some of the PWD’s that they were bribed by Modesta who pocketed cash from Fred Kiryowa. We cannot allow intrigue in the party and she will have to write to the NRM secretariat if she is interested in returning to the party, Matovu Figo told entebbenews on phone.
Modesta Tezityabiiri who stood as unopposed NRM candidate representing women with Disabilities wasn’t available for comment.
On the elderly polls NRM’s Margaret Masembe and Benjamin Senyondo sailed through while Sekandi Amir and Esther Asiimwe also from NRM sailed through as youth representatives. Sekandi defeated DP’s Shafik Serwanda while Esther Asiimwe defeated Namuleme Safinah also from DP.
In related development, Entebbe based Bukedde TV reporter Kigongo Sebalamu who was assaulted in the melee by a couple of youth has reported the matter to Entebbe Police and all the culprits will be brought to book.
