Musician Ronald Mayinja has addressed the catfight between Carol Nantongo and Stecia Mayanja, which made rounds in the media weeks ago.
As one of the directors from both Eagles Production and Golden Band, where Stecia and Nantongo were groomed, Ronald Mayinja has downplayed the allegations, suggesting that they dislike each other.
Ronald Mayinja claims that since both ladies started in Eagles Production, they were trying hard to outdo each other, mainly in terms of fashion and creativity. He denied the allegations that they were using witchcraft. He noted that the media houses that were running the story were driving a different agenda.
“There was nothing big between them. They were just in competition with each other, wanting to be the best, but there was no witchcraft. Sometimes during a rivalry, you become bitter when you lose, and when you win, your opponent gets mad at you. Women often fight over seemingly trivial things, such as hairstyles and shoes. These things happen in the industry,” he said.
For a long time, there was a rumour that Nantongo and Stecia were secretly beefing until later came out to confirm the allegations. She recounted that Nantongo allegedly burnt all the clothes she had given her, claiming that she was trying to bewitch her.
The band rivalry primarily involves Carol Nantongo and Stecia Mayanja, with Maureen Nantume quickly joining the mix. This has caused a significant division on social media, especially among their fans, who frequently attack each other at the slightest opportunity.
Ronald Mayinja believes they are using this feud to garner attention and increase talkability among their fans, to promote their music. This is because he has always spotted them embracing and greeting each other away from the cameras.

“It may work for them musically, as long as they do not take it at heart that they hate each other. Some artists use these wars to promote their music and gain attention, but they do not harbor hatred for each other. Most of these people fight in public and talk backstage,” he said.
