Musician Rema Namakula has opened up about the excitement she felt when she first heard her breakthrough song playing on the radio.
Rema Namakula took her fans down memory lane during Bruno K’s live TikTok broadcast, where she narrated how she felt when she first tasted fame.
The musician achieved her big breakthrough in 2011 after collaborating with Bebe Cool on “Cease and Sekkle.”
At this point, she was under Gagamel Band and was not sure whether Bebe Cool would release it or not. On this fateful day, she was on her way when she heard the song playing on the radio.
Namakula says she felt a range of emotions from excitement to disbelief, mainly because she had been struggling to gain attention and popularity. Out of excitement, she stopped the motorcyclist she was traveling with to explain to him how she owned the song, but he would not believe her.

“I was on a boda when I first heard my song. Collaborated on that song with Bebe Cool and was never sure of when he would release the song. I just sang and left everything at that because he was my boss. He was responsible for the release.
When I heard it on the radio, I told the boda guy to stop immediately. I tried telling him that I was the voice behind the song but he didn’t believe it. I was so happy and tried talking about it but no one would believe me at that moment,” she explained.
