Entebbe Municipality Resident District Commissioner Rose Kirabira has appealed to the youths in Entebbe to utilize the peace and stability ushered in by the National Resistance Movement to start income generating projects to lift themselves out of the biting poverty.
Kirabira who was speaking during the Entebbe NRM Leaders Tarehe Sita celebrations held in Banga Nakiwogo on Sunday hailed President Museveni for liberating the country from Idi Amin and Milton Obote’s bad leadership and urged the youth to embrace several Government programs including NAADS.
“President Museveni has done his part by ensuring that Uganda is peaceful and stable and it is now upon you (youths) to use the prevailing peace to work hard and lift yourselves out of poverty” Kirabira remarked.
Kirabira added that Government is now investing in infrastructure including roads and electricity to ensure the growth and expansion of businesses.
“Government is now constructing roads and increasing electricity supply across the country to ensure that businesses thrive and my door is always open to those who would want to embrace NAADS Programs and seek for help in other related issues” Kirabira stressed.
She warned the youths to avoid using shortcuts such as robbery, theft, conning and fleecing people of their money in fake deals to become rich. She instead advised them to use their own sweat and work hard to better themselves by embracing NAADS.
Kirabira also appealed to the youths to save, budget and plan for their future and old age to avoid becoming a problem in their communities. She also advised the youths to be disciplined, shun corruption and avoid having multiple sexual partners.
Kirabira sounded a tough warning to all NRM members aspiring for leadership positions to avoid petty squabbles, tribalism and instead work towards uniting members in the party.
The Entebbe NRM Leaders Tarehe Sita celebrations were organized to remember the day when the National Resistance Army guerillas led by President Museveni first attacked Kambaba Military barracks on 6th February 1981 to officially launch the liberation struggle.
Several top NRM Leaders in Entebbe including Patience Mubangizi, Rose Tumusiime, Amon Muzoora Reeves, Kirumira Charles, Ssebuliba Chris, Joseph Ssesanga, Zikuliza Paul and top Special Forces Command Bosses graced the celebrations.
