
Church of Uganda in conjunction with Namirembe Diocese has organized a charity marathon dubbed Rehabilitation Marathon Run 2017 in a bid to raise funds for the construction of the Teacher Training College (T.T.C) in Buloba. Speaking to entebbenews on Sunday, St. John’s Parish Church Vicar Rev. Emmanuel Ssewanyana revealed that the Marathon will have the 5Km, 10Km and 21Km race categories and will be held on April 29, 2017 at the Namirembe Cathedral Grounds.
“We as Church of Uganda have organized the rehabilitation Marathon Run 2017 in a bid to raise funds for the construction of the four storied Teacher Training College in Buloba. I call upon all well wishers out there to come and support us in the noble cause. Since time immemorial, Christian founded schools and institutions have produced responsible citizens and teachers in Uganda. The four storied building will mainly have a class room block”, Rev. Ssewanyana told entebbenews.
The runners will set off at 7am and participants will have to pay Ten Thousand Shillings (Shs10, 000) for a ticket. Tickets are on sale at St. John’s Church Entebbe.
Namirembe Diocese has also organized different packages for corporate institutions and able-bodied individuals who will generously contribute towards realizing the construction of Buloba T.T.C and these include Corporate Bronze (10 persons) Shs 1,000,000, Corporate Silver (20 persons) Shs 2,000,000 and Corporate Gold (50 persons) Shs 5,000,000.
