
Police in Entebbe launched an operation on Monday where it intercepted a number of boda boda cyclists presumed to be operating illegally. According to Entebbe traffic police commander Eria Kamugisha, the operation which started on Monday, will continue for unspecified period of time until “positive results are realized.”
“We’re arresting all cyclists without driving permits, helmets, third-party insurance and those carrying more than one passenger,” noted Mr. Kamugisha.
The traffic police commander further revealed that his police officers will be changing places. “If today we’re at Abaita Ababiri, tomorrow we may be in Kitooro. This is not only in Entebbe areas but also other parts of the country and not only limited to boda bodas, but also other vehicles,” explained the O.C traffic.
The operation will extend to motorists with illegal sirens and this saw musician Manisoor Semanda a.k.a King Saha falling the first victim.
