Inspector General of Police Kale Kayihura is smiling sweet after receiving two anti-riot choppers at Entebbe Airport Airbase on Friday. The top government police officer received the two choppers at the Airbase and vowed to crush whoever causes havoc during the 2016 elections.
The choppers Agusto Westland 1098P an 8 seater from Italy and Sokol W3A 14 seater from Poland have sophisticated gadgets which will help to crack down and sort out criminals from the public who want to destabilize the country during and after the elections. According to Kayihura, the new choppers were bought with money given by insurance for the one that crashed.
The function was attended by President Yoweri Museveni who commissioned the choppers. Other guests included top police bosses, UPDF air force commanders and the officials from Uganda prisons services.
The new state-of-the-art choppers will be used to spy and crack down on rioters in the 2016 elections. He said that three more choppers that were donated to the police force by an Italian company will arrive at the end of this year.
