The Entebbe NRM party cadres George Ntonganyi and Mathias Kafeero aka Kabinika the Kiwafu East LC3 Councilor have initiated a sports governing body that will among others oversee the development and nurturing of sports talent in Entebbe Municipality Division B. The sports governing body which was launched a couple of weeks ago will focus mainly on the youth in the Division who will also be trained in income generating projects.
According to Councilor Kabinika, the youth will have to engage in operation wealth creation (OWC) projects besides nurturing their sports talent.
“We shall start with Athletics, wrestling and Ludo and our target as the sports governing body is to attract as many youth as possible who will also engage in Operation wealth creation projects. The athletics, wrestling and Ludo games will be held annually and competitions will be among the various villages that comprise Division ‘B’. The winners in the respective categories will walk away with prizes. I’m confident that through sports, the ten member committee will be able to mobilize the youth in Division (B) and teach them skills to start income generating projects”, Councilor Kabinika disclosed.
