High court in Entebbe presided over by Hon. Dr. Justice Joseph Murangira on Wednesday sentenced a notorious motorcycle thug to rot 6years in Kigo prison.The judge told court that the convict identified as Tom Sunday Kizza would have been jailed 10years but because he showed remorsefulness to his evil deeds and that since the motor cycle was recovered and handed over to the litigant; court exercised some lenience by handing him a 6-year sentence.
Prosecution led by Entebbe Resident State Attorney Julius Tuhairwe told court that on 24 July 2015 at Bugonge village in Kakiri Town Council, Wakiso district, the convict armed with a hammer hit hard Emmanuel Kiberu on the head and robbed him a motor cycle registration number UDB 239D. The victim bled profusely with lots of blood oozing
out of his head and he was rushed to a nearby health center for medication by a Good Samaritan. Later police launched a manhunt which saw the convict apprehended before being paraded in court to face the wrath of the law.
