



Faustah Nalwadda, the owner of Network bar in Kitinda zone was on Friday dragged to police for selling contaminated bottles of booze (eagle lager).
The bar boss was dragged to police by her regular client identified as Muwadah Bukenya whom she sold to contaminated bottles of booze which were full of dead flies and dirt particles.
The complainant told police that he became suspicious of the booze before downing the first bottle which was full of dirt particles.
“I became suspicious of the beers before I downed the first bottle. So when I spat I saw a rotten housefly coming out of my mouth. I informed the bar owner who in turn gave me another bottle but upon opening it, I discovered dirt particles with some maggots inside it and consequently reported the matter to police, “said Bukenya.
Later police stormed the bar and recovered a crate of contaminated beers which was exhibited as evidence pending prosecution.
Upon interrogation at police Faustah admitted selling contaminated booze to the complainant but without her knowledge arguing that the contentious crates in question were supplied to her by agents of Nile breweries.
The officer in charge of Abaita Ababiri police, Lillian Nakigyo confirmed the incidence saying a case of noxious was reported under police file number SD REF: 13/27/08/2015, pending investigations into the matter.
