“Party Chairman President Museveni wants the fourth coming Delegates conference to be organized with high levels of integrity so that there is no manipulation, no fictitious delegates. We don’t want to hear any complaints” Opondo told a news conference.
The conference comes at a time when there is great rift between Museveni and his longtime confidant Amama Mbabazi who was sacked last month and took leave until December 30. He was replaced by Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda.
Away from office attempts have been to stop Mbabazi from addressing public functions actions considered by some lawmakers as a violation of his rights.
Acting Secretary General Dorothy Hyuha will present a report and key issue will be to have the position of Secretary General appointive rather than being elective.
