Musician Acidic Vokoz, whose real name is Kakaire Mutwahilu, and his management, Mama Baba Entertainment, have made contradicting statements regarding their alleged split.
Sharing on his official social media platforms, Acidic Vokoz posted new booking numbers. He cautioned the public that any bookings or transactions made on the old numbers will not be recognized.
This led his fans and followers to conclude that he had left Mama Baba Entertainment. In a leaked phone call with Galaxy Media, Selector Reason denied the allegations of the possible split, noting that he was still in charge of the artist.
He encouraged netizens not to believe the flaming rumour, emphasizing that it would only be true if the official communication came from the management.
“Just tell me where you want him to perform and when. Changing numbers is useless and doesn’t mean anything. I want you to try calling those new numbers and see if Oscar will not be the one receiving them. You must obtain the final word from me; do not believe anything else unless I state that we have parted ways. If we are to separate, I personally have to make official statements,” he said.
At first, he confessed to the user on the other end of the call that they had misunderstandings but quickly withdrew his statement claiming everything was ‘clear’ between them.
Mama Baba Entertainment, comprising Selector Reason and Oscar Pro, began managing Acidic Vokoz in 2022. Together, they have won awards, traveled outside Uganda, had great hits, and numerous bookings.
They are behind Acidic Vokoz’s maiden concert at the Cricket Oval. There were allegations that one of the reasons behind their misunderstanding was that management had snubbed his lifelong dream of buying land and instead used the proceeds to buy him a car.

In the interview, the manager denies the allegations, claiming he owns land. Acidic Vokoz, on the other hand, declined to address the issue further, claiming the post on his social media had a different meaning.
“The statement on my socials is different. When the time comes for us to go our separate ways, we will know. For now, I do not want to address the issues.” Acidic Vokoz spoke to Galaxy Media.
