

The 2015 Entebbe Municipal Council Athletics Competitions came to a climax on Friday March 20 at the works Grounds with Lake Victoria School emerging as overall winner dethroning Nakiwogo Primary School who slumped to the third position with 317 points. Lake Victoria School beat 35 other schools with a total of 370 points in all the 18 categories to clinch both the 2015 Entebbe Municipal overall winner’s and zone A Winner’s accolade. Boys returned a total score of 221 points while girls returned a total of 149 points in the different categories.
Nsamizi Army School and Changsha Model Primary School finished as Zone A winners and runners up with total scores of 365 and 327 points respectively.


Lake Victoria School and Je-seph Primary School finished as Zone B winners and runners up with total scores of 370 and 365 points respectively. All the 36 participating schools were awarded certificates of participation.


“I feel proud as the games teacher of Lake Victoria School for this achievement. I have been training every evening for one hour with a dedicated team and I’m happy that our hard work has finally paid off” Kigozi Musa Lake Victoria School Games Teacher remarked.


“I would like to thank the parents who have supported us through the headmaster though it hasn’t been easy. My next focus is on the ball games like netball, football and volley ball which will kick off next term” Kigozi added.
In his speech Anthony Ssegujja Division B LCIII Chairman who stood in for Mayor Kayanja Vincent DePaul who was away for other engagements thanked all the participating schools and urged government through the ministry of Education to invest more in sports.


He also urged all the primary school authorities to design time tables that also include sports to avoid bookworms. Ssegujja also revealed Entebbe Municipal Council’s readiness to boost sports in Entebbe and support all the upcoming competitions in Lira.
