A horny dad identified as Paul Samanya who defiled and impregnated a 14-year old girl five years ago has been handed a 5year sentence in prison by High court Judge Dr. Justice Joseph Murangira over aggravated defilement. Prior to sentencing the convict, the convict’s Defense Lawyer Xavier Francis Ogwado asked court for a lenient sentence saying that the convict has been remorseful to the offense and that prosecution has no previous criminal record against him and he is a first offender who has gone an extra mile to apologize to the victim’s aunt and that he has a child to take care of who was produced by the victim.
However, Justice Dr. Mulangira said cases of aggravated defilement are rampant in the country and that the convict’s sexual act on the victim forced her drop out of school and therefore, he can’t go unpunished before handing him a 5year sentence to enjoy free accommodation and food at Kigo prison. The Judge also ordered the convict to pay Shs 3m to the victim as compensation for the money spent on the convict’s child who is being looked after by the victim.
Prosecution told court that on 1 December 2012 at Naluvule village in Wakiso district, the convict defiled Sharifah Nanziri aged 14, who had been entrusted to him by his wife who was away for a single day. It’s said that on the fateful day, when the convict returned home he found the victim sleeping in her bedroom and he followed her there and forced her into painful sexual intercourse. The victim felt a lot of pain and the following morning she left home to stay with neighbors where her aunt found her before narrating to the aunt how the convict forced her into sex and raptured her organ.
The aunt took the victim to a nearby health unit where she was examined and confirmed to have been defiled. The victim’s aunt went back home and confronted her hubby who admitted feasting on the poor girl. Later after a month, the aunt took the victim to the hospital for a pregnant test and results indicated that she was pregnant. The victim’s aunt angrily grilled her hubby who accepted to take responsibility of the poor girl but however this didn’t go well with the victim’s aunt who viewed her as a co-wife. The victim reported the matter to police and the convict was arrested and later he was paraded in court over aggravated defilement.
