

Entebbe based Masavu FC cruised past visiting Hope Doves in their final 2015/16 Fufa Second Division Big League match that was played at their Katabi home ground on Saturday. Entebbe Seasoned football ace Onesmus Andama grabbed an early goal for Masavu in the 1st minute however Tumwebaze Remex scored an equalizer for Hope Doves in the 13th minute and added his second goal in the 18th minute. Masavu quickly picked up their pieces and continued piling pressure on Hope Doves who were proving a hard nut to track. Masavu went level with Hope Doves in the 38th minute after Peter Lomoro scored a glancing header thanks to Fred Umon’s superb cross in the right wing. Andama sealed Masavu’s victory with a thunderous shot in the 65th minute.
Masavu who finished third on the fufa Big League log with 46 points will take on Lira’s Sporting United in play offs that are scheduled to take place on Wednesday May 18, 2016 at Lugongo.
Elsewhere league leaders Kirinya Jinja S.S stormed the 2016/17 Uganda Azam Premier League after they beat Wandegeya 3-2 at the Kanyanya Play Ground while Proline finished second with 51 points after they were held to 1-all draw by Kasese New Villa in Buhinga Play Ground, Fort portal. Kirinya Jinja S.S finished top with 52 points.
Onduparaka also earned their promotion to the 2016/17 Uganda Azam Premier League after they topped the Elgon group with 53 points. Onduparaka won their last game of the season 3-0 against Sporting United at the Green Light stadium in Arua town.
Relegated clubs:
Kira Young, Bukedea Town Council, CRO and Lira United faced the relegation axe in their Elgon Group following their dismal performance.
The Rwenzori group relegated clubs are Masaka Local Council, Citizen, Kasese New Villa and Wandegeya.
