
June 3, 2017, is a Saturday every enthusiastic golfer is looking forward to as the Singleton Golf Match play series will come to an epic grand finale at the par 71 Entebbe Golf Course after months of action-packed Golf. All eyes will be on the two pairs that will face off against each other in a battle that will see the winning pair travel to the United Kingdom to watch the British Open in an all expenses paid for trip courtesy of Rwandair.
Dan Kajungu and Collins Nuwagira pair beat tournament favorites and top contenders Kiryowa Kiwanuka and Elly ‘Sober’ Mukasa pair 3&2 in the Amateur semi final clash at Entebbe Golf Course on Saturday while Isaac Mariera and John Muchiiri pair comfortably cruised past Jadu Patel and Anthony Agaba pair 4&2.
In the Pros category, towering golf sensational Dennis Anguyo defeated Entebbe based pro Byamukama Vincent 2-up while Fred Wanzala beat Phillip Kasozi 1-up.

In the subsidiary event, Richard Baguma, Collins Ajidra and Gen Gier Chuang won the Men’s Group A, B and C categories with 71, 64, 68 Nett respectively. Eva Magala and Grace Njeri won the women’s Group A and B with 72 and 73 Nett respectively. All the winners in the respective groups walked away with trophies.
As the tradition has been in all Singleton Golf challenges, the 19th hole was laden with Singleton whiskey courtesy of tournament sponsors the Uganda Breweries Limited and a casino in a night that was themed; A night In Las Vegas. The Grand Finale has already been themed as a Black Tie Affair.
