Two people suspected of being terrorists have today, Tuesday 3 June 2025, been neutralized near the Martyrs shrine.
As the country commemorates the annual Martyrs Day, those near the Munyonyo Martyrs shrine have experienced an utter shock following the death of two yet to be identified people.
The two died following an explosion suspected to be a bomb. The development has been confirmed by the acting Defence Public Information Officer, Chris Magezi, via his Twitter handle.
One of the terrorists, a female, was a suicide bomber laden with powerful explosives.

He revealed that it was an intelligence-led operation, and the security services are on heightened alert to ensure the Martyrs Day celebrations proceed without disruption.
The general public is advised to remain calm but vigilant and report any suspicious individuals, objects, or activities to the security services for immediate attention.
