*Says He will Not Participate in Sham Elections.
Former spy Chief General David Sejusa has spoken out for the first time on the fourth coming general elections. The renegade General who has now focused his attention on ousting his former Boss and Commander in Chief President Museveni revealed that he will not bother participating in the 2016 polls because like other past elections it will be circus and drama and President Museveni will rig them.
“I’ll not participate in the 2016 elections because President Museveni isn’t ready to hand over power peacefully. Elections over time have proved to be a mere circus without any positive outcome” Sejusa stated.
“I cannot participate in an election that is organized, supervised and declared by Mr. Museveni. The past elections have only served to divide the country instead of bringing unity” Sejusa added.
He also called on the opposition to unite and put aside their internal party bickering and mobilize the masses to stamp out Museveni’s dictatorship.
“Unity, building strength and capacity should be the focal point for all those who want to put an end to Museveni’s dictatorship and I’m ready to work with the opposition because Museveni will not hand over power peacefully” he stressed.
He added. ” The opposition should not only concentrate on removing Museveni from power but also create mechanisms to ensure that the country remains stable even after his departure”
“We are in struggle to bring change in the country and those who aren’t ready to sacrifice their lives shouldn’t waste our time. To those I wronged while still in government I seek your forgiveness” he continued.
Sejusa also revealed that during the eight years he served as Intelligence coordinator he only got to see Museveni thrice stressing that the position was just to hold him captive.
He scoffed at people who have continuously labeled him as government spy even after breaking ranks with the regime.
“Rumors were moving around the country that while I was in exile in London I was spying for Museveni. But how would I spy on poor Ugandans in London who are surviving by bathing old people? Sejusa asked.
Asked why the army had to pick him from the Entebbe Airport upon his return from his self imposed exile Sejusa revealed that it was a ploy by President Museveni intended to delude Ugandans that government was behind my return.
Sejusa who was appearing on 89.2 FM Radio Talk Show Emaddusso on Wednesday last week hosted by Meddie Ssebuliba praised former Forum For Democratic Change President Kiiza Besigye for his selfless contribution towards the struggle for change in Uganda. He also thanked all Ugandans who stood by his family when his father passed away while he was in exile.
Right from the time he returned from his self imposed exile in the United Kingdom Sejusa has been preaching change and making news headlines for being outspoken and plotting to oust his former Boss President Museveni.
Meanwhile Uganda Federal Alliance President Beti Kamya has described Sejusa as a mere comic who should be ignored.
