    After a grueling three day action packed Entebbe Primary Schools athletics Championship event at Lake Victoria School play Ground, Nsamizi Army emerged the last school standing after it garnered a total of 670 points to be crowned overall winners. Nsamizi Army defeated 31 other primary schools that fiercely competed in the Athletics Championship to lift the coveted trophy. The same result (670 Points) also earned Nsamizi Army Primary School the Zone ‘A’ title.

    Je-seph primary School finished in second place with 656 points. Je-seph walked away with a trophy after they topped Zone ‘B’ Group with the similar result.

    Deputy Mayor Richard Sekyondo who presided over the closing ceremony thanked all the participating schools and assured the Entebbe Primary Schools Sports committee of financial support as they prepare for the National Athletics Championships slated to take place on May 8, 2017 in Luweero District.

    I would like to thank all the schools that have participated in the Athletics Championship.  I would also like to thank all the Games Masters who have spent time training all the participants. I give you my assurances that we as Entebbe Municipal Council we will facilitate the Boys and girls team that will represent us at the National Championships to take place in Luweero District, Deputy Mayor Richard Sekyondo stated.

    For several years now, the Entebbe Primary Schools committee has continued to decry the poor facilitation and funding from Entebbe Municipal Council and as a result the sports committee couldn’t organize discus and Javelin competitions due to lack of equipments. In the relays, the organizing committee has continuously resorted to using sticks due to lack of batons.

    The primary Schools participated in different Athletics categories including Relays, 100m, 200m, 400m, 50m, 60m and long jump.

    Other primary schools that completed the top 20 list include;
