

Describing leaders as torch bearers and drivers steering the wheel for their community, the Uganda Management Institute (UMI) Consultant Abner Besigye has urged Local councilors in Entebbe Municipality to fight corruption and focus on delivering services to their respective communities. Abner Besigye who was speaking during a one day Good Governance and Anti-corruption workshop that was held on Tuesday at Entebbe Municipal Council urged the councilors and other leaders to desist from dipping their fingers in Tax Pasyers money and focus on encouraging people in their respective communities to be developmental. Abner Besigye also called on the citizens to demand for services and accountability from their leaders because their vote counts.


Meanwhile the Entebbe Municipality Divisional Internal Security Officer (DISO) Peace Rukundo urged all the locals to be alert and vigilant during the festive season and report all suspicious objects and persons including conmen to the nearest Police Station. She warned girls and women to desist from wearing skimpy and Micro mini dresses that will keep horny fellas salivating and end up raping them. Moses Makumbi from the Directorate of Ethics and Integrity urged all the councilors to always refer to the Ethics and Integrity guidelines that they received while executing their duties.
