Entebbe Club managed to overcome their bitter rivals the GudLyfe Golfing Team to win the 2015 Golf Season Opener. Entebbe Club beat GudLyfe 9-8 to lift the coveted Golf Season Opener Trophy.
“I’m happy that Entebbe Club has beaten GudLyfe and I’m happy that the Game of Golf is growing in Uganda” Entebbe Club Chairman Innocent Kihika told the 19th hole Gallery.
“This year Entebbe Club is going to be re-developed to match other Top Golf Clubs in Africa. I’m grateful to Britam Insurance Company our new sponsors who have come onboard to promote the Game of Golf in Uganda” Kihika said.
GudLyfe has twice won the past two editions held in 2013 and 2014. GudLyfe Chairman Dr. Samuel Ssejjaka called for a re-match on Feb.21 at Uganda Golf Club Kitante which Entebbe Club gladly accepted.
“We want to take this rivalry to Uganda Golf Club Kitante on Fe.21” Ssejjaka said.
Meanwhile Mukasa Elly aka ‘Sober’ emerged as overall winner of the social Golf Tournament that attracted 90 players at the par 71 Lake Side Entebbe Club. He returned 70 Nett, he beat Mwandha Timothy on Count Back who settled for first Runner up while Muhereza Allan was second Runner up after returning 71 Nett he won on count back.
