James Walugembe’s goal in the 32nd minute handed Lake Victoria Hotel victory over bitter rivals Protea Hotel in a mouth watering hotel derby at the Entebbe Airport Football Ground on Wednesday May 27. Lake Victoria Hotel dominated the entire first 45 minutes though most of their shots on goal were off target while goalie Elvis Bwire saved the other shots.
In the second half protea returned energized with Nalid Musamba piling pressure on Lake Victoria Hotel though Goalie Mark Balayo who was in superb form saved all his shots that he fired. Protea’s Eddie Nambafu’s spot kick hit the cross bar that would have otherwise handed them an equalizer in the last dying minutes of the match. Lake Victoria Hotel Human Resource Manager Doreen Katushabe, Guest Relations Manager Nelson Wakhooli, Reservation and booking Manager, Food and Beverages Manager were present to support and morale boost their team.
“Promoting sports is part of our core values as a hotel and we also want to give our staff the much needed physical fitness as well as gain the exposure and interacting with other organizations operating at Entebbe Airport” Lake Victoria Hotel’s Guest Relations Manager Nelson Wakhooli told entebbenews.
