It was an

emotional home coming for the Entebbe Knight Riders Basket ball team that played their first ever Division I League match on Saturday at the newly refurbished Basket ball court located just a stone throw away from the Entebbe Municipal Council and famous Muzinga Park Historical site. Playing on a chilly cold day, Entebbe Knight Riders quickly capitalized on their home advantage and beat visiting YMCA Hamsters 057-046 amidst their ardent and amazing Entebbe fans that came in large numbers to cheer and morale boost their own home made basket ball team that featured players like seasoned Rogers Odiama aka (ODB), Christian Musinguzi, Eliakim Atuhairwe, Collins Mukiza, Brian Esuule and Andrew Tonda.
Meanwhile Nkumba Marines Beat Kampala University 064-040 in the curtain raiser match.

Entebbe Knight Riders Coach Brian Wathum had this to say;
I’m delighted and happy that we have finally started playing our home games in Entebbe. We’ve been playing our all games at the YMCA Basket Ball Arena in Kampala but thanks to God we now have our own home though it has been a very big hustle for us to realize this dream. Our focus now is to ensure that we grow our fan base in Entebbe and secondly to bring sponsors on board.
Entebbe Municipality Member of Parliament Hon. Rose Tumusiime who was Chief Guest of the day promised to support the team with balls and jerseys in addition to starting a girl’s basket ball team for Entebbe.
Sports is a key form of leisure, good health and above all now a source of income to talented individuals. I’ll partner with you in sourcing for funds through Public Private Partnerships (PPP) to enable you reach your desired goals, Hon. Tumusiime said.
