In a bid to raise funds for the renovation and expansion of the child care center, TASO Entebbe organized a football match between the Dads and Reverend Fathers on Sunday at St. Mary’s Kisubi Football Ground to launch the initiative under the theme: “Fathers In Support Of Children Affected By HIV”. Dads beat the Reverend Fathers 3-2 on penalties after the match ended in a 1-all draw. Engineer Charles Kiberu Buganda Kingdom representative in Busiro who stood in for former Fufa Boss Lawrence Mulindwa handed over the trophy to the Dads who included Entebbe Municipality Mayor Kayanja Vincent DePaul and his predecessor Stephen Kabuye, Entebbe Miracle Center Director Pastor Aaron Mutebi.
TASO Center Advisory Committee Manager Robert Kadando revealed that the football match will be held annually to raise the Shs50m that is required to complete the facility to accommodate the rising number of HIV Children who seek treatment from there. Chief guest Charles Kiberu donated shs 500,000 and also let out some of his construction equipment for free to TASO to enable them complete the facility in time. Lawrence Mulindwa pledged Shs 3m to the cause. The Reverend Fathers who were captained by Entebbe Parish priest Rev. Fr. Joseph Ssebayiga pledged Shs.1m while Dads made individual contributions and pledges.
