Entebbe Golf Club wrapped up International Women’s Day Celebrations on Saturday with fine performances from four female pairs that gave their all in the round two of the Singleton Match play challenge and progressed to the much anticipated round of 16 slated to take place on April 13. The four female pairs included the indomitable pair of Peace Kabasweka and Kesiime Sheila that thumped Barnabas Bakamutumaho and his counterpart Sabiiti Robert 5&4. Babirye Martha and Okura Moureen saw off Mukiibi Moses and Ndyaguma Paul 1-up. Katuramu Paul and Serwano Walusimbi lost to Mbaguta Gloria and Asiimwe Evelyn 2-up. Wendy Angudeyo and Doreen Mwesige ended Tony Kisadha and Richard Mwami’s hopes after they beat them 1-up.
Other Results.
Kiryowa Kiwanuka and Elly Mukasa beat Katema Benson and Mutyaba William 5&3 while Nuwagaba Enock and Nsereko paul exited the competition after they lost to Rugambwa Silver and Bagalana Ashraf 4&3. Mariera Isaac and Muchiiri John edged Ssebbale Phillip and Muzahura Edgar 4&2, Kato Samuel and Odere Charles beat Byabagambi John and Joel Kakira 5&3.

Byaruhanga Jaime and Nsubuga Mark lost to Odere Collins and Namutebi Caroline 1-up while Kajungu Dan and Nuwagira Collins didn’t spare Ali Juuko and Mwetemba Herbert after they beat them 3&2. Hamya Charles and Bogera Joseph saw off Sebbale Kato and Basabose John pair 1-up. Greg Patterson and Salani Josef beat Kareeba Desmond and Thomas Kato 2&1. Daniel Opwonya and Mubiru Nathan lost to Busingye Robert and Lutwama Richard 2&1. Okech Edward and Douglas Shreck exited after they lost to Atuhairwe Andrew and Orach Geoffrey 3&1.
Meanwhile, it took Ssubi Kiwanuka and his counterpart Tim Mwanda to defeat Marvin Kagoro and Oscar Semawere in the first play off to confirm their slots in the round of 16.

Handicap 08 golfer Vincent Katutsi was crowned Group A winner with 36 stableford points while Galiwango Joseph finished as Runners up with 36 points. J.B. Junior and Mukiibi Henry topped Groups B and C with 36 and 37 stableford points. In the ladies category, Basiima Bridget topped group A with 34 points while Nakalembe Irene finished as Runners up with 32 points. Nabukenya Diana topped group B with 40 points. All the winners in the subsidiary category walked away with goodies ranging HTC Mobile Phone handsets, microwaves, trophies and other prizes courtesy of sponsors Singleton, Pinnacle Security, Victoria Motors and HTC.
The night (All white theme dress code) was lit up by comedians Teacher Mpamiire who also mimicked President Museveni, Mad rat and Chiko and Salvador.
