Dancehall singer Cindy Sanyu has responded to critics claiming her wedding ceremony with actor and director Okuyo was cheap and low-budget.
Speaking in a recent interview, Cindy noted that she was not concerned about people’s opinions on social media as long as she had the best time of her life with the people she loved. She emphasized that she was happily married and was not paying attention to naysayers.
“It is not something I think about because we had a good time with the people we invited. Someone from social media is coming up with their useless talk because they want likes and enjoy trolling Cindy; it doesn’t concern me. At the end of the day, it is not about how much money the function costs you but the joy you experienced,” she said.
Cindy got married to her husband, Prynce Joel Okuyo, in 2021 before close friends and family. She revealed that they only had 35 guests and believes that the trolls were from the jealous and angry people that she didn’t invite to celebrate with them.
“It was a small and intimate event. Now whatever they say doesn’t matter. That marriage happened, and we are still together; that is the foundation we laid. People’s opinions do not concern me,” Cindy said.

Ahead of their fifth wedding anniversary this year, Cindy addressed speculations that her husband may have left her because of dressing skimpily on stage, something she strongly denied.

“My man has never left me. I understand that, and it can get annoying. That is why you no longer see him on social media very much. It happens sometimes, but we are still together, and he understands that the person he is with is an artist, and it happens,” Cindy explained.
She turned down the request of calling him live on air, saying that their relationship was not a public debate and for proving points to all doubters.
