Catherine Kusasira reveals that during her concert at Hotel Africana, Maama Fiina announced before the audience that she was giving her money that would change her life.
Born Sophia Namutebi, Maama Fiina stepped on stage holding an envelope and, in her speech, she noted how the money inside would be a turning point from financial huddles for her and her husband.
In her mind, Kusasira thought that the money in question was a lot because, as a person living an expensive lifestyle, she expected Maama Fiina to know her price tag.
Out of excitement, Catherine Kusasira held onto the envelope tightly and even claimed fellow artists followed her around to see how much she had been gifted.
To her surprise, Maama Fiina had allegedly slipped in UGX 2000 notes, amounting to only 1 million shillings. When she opened the envelope before her friends, they all laughed at her. At first, she claimed she didn’t react but was embarrassed in front of the people who had come to witness her counting the life-changing dollar bills.
“I thought she had put like 100 million in the envelope. When someone tells me she wants to change my life and my husband’s, I just know the money is a lot because I’m not cheap. You look at me and know I have been taking care of myself. I received the envelope myself and didn’t delegate anyone. If someone had picked it for me, I would have said they had stolen money from it,” she said.

With much disappointment, Kusasira cautioned Maama Fiina to desist from making promises and failing to fulfill them.
