79 year old John Mulumba Luswata dad to Nabaggerekka Sylvia Nagginda and proprietor of JEB Restaurant off Kasenyi Road in Katabi Town Council was on Friday dragged to Entebbe Police Station over a Shs28m land deal that has turned out to be sour.
We have highly established that on February 10, 2017, John Mulumba Luswata together with Edmond Ssebugwawo and a one Stephen Lubwama sold a 100X100 plot located in Nkumba village to a one Dr. Ssendawula Ian at Shs28m and they transferred all the land titles to his names. However a couple of months ago Dr. Ssendawula visited the plot and he was shocked to discover that rental apartments were being constructed in the plot without his knowledge.
He contacted John Luswata over the matter but he never got any response and decided to report the matter to Police who have been hunting for Luswata and his co-accused over criminal trespass charges under SD Ref 46/28/07/17.
According to Dr. Ssendawula, he wants Luswata to refund his Shs28m because the plot has turned out to be controversial.
The Entebbe Police OC CIID Zachariah Mbabazi confirmed that John Mulumba Luswata and his co-accused were detained at Entebbe Police Station after they accepted that they pocketed the Ian Ssendawula’s money. The trio was later released on Police Bond and according to highly placed sources, they have been given two months to sort themselves out and pay back the money or else they are paraded in court over fraud charges.
