President Yoweri Museveni has reappointed Brig Gen Felix Kulayigye as the Ministry of Defense and UPDF Spokesperson. Kulayigye, who served as the army spokesperson from 2005 to 2013, will be replacing Brig Gen Flavia Byekwaso who is currently attending a course at the National Defence College . Police in Lubowa have recovered the body of a Kenyan National who was killed in a suspected domestic brawl with her boyfriend who is currently on the run. Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police spokesperson, identified the deceased as Lydia Wanyuki, a maid in Munyonyo who was killed by Patrice Ochen in one of estates in Lubowa, in Makindye-Ssabagabo, in Wakiso District. The police at Kajjansi are investigating a suspected murder of Hajj Rashid Kamoga Kulima, 52, a senior human resources officer with Uganda National Roads Authority. According to preliminary reports by police, this manager is suspected to have been killed by yet to identified persons who dumped him at a hospital along Entebbe road. The Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, Ruth Nankabirwa has announced changes to the Electricity Tariff Structure for customers under UMEME Limited, effective January 2022. The amendments to the Tariff Structure were made by the Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA). The tariff re-structuring will include the introduction of a Pilot Tariff Category to supply power to industrial parks, introduction of the Declining Block Tariff for domestic consumers (cooking tariff) to encourage cooking with electricity at home, and re-categorization of the beneficiaries of the lifeline (social) tariff.
