President Yoweri Museveni has reappointed Brig Gen Felix Kulayigye as the Ministry of Defense and UPDF Spokesperson.
Kulayigye, who served as the army spokesperson from 2005 to 2013, will be replacing Brig Gen Flavia Byekwaso who is currently attending a course at the National Defence College .
The development was announced by the interim army spokesman Maj Ronald Kakuringu on Friday, who had been siting in for Brig Byekwaso since January 11th this year.

Brig Byekwaso, the county’s first ever female defense spokesperson, was sent for training after serving just over 16 months.
She was sent for training along with other senior commanders above the rank of Colonel to the year long course including Brig. Peter Chandra who has been the acting commander of the SFC and the State House Anti-corruption boss Col. Edith Nakalema.
Brig. Kulayigye, besides serving as the Army spokesperson during the devastating LRA insurgency in Northern Uganda, as also been a platoon commander, and Chief Political Commissar.
In 2016, he was elected to serve as a Member of Parliament representing the UPDF in the 10th Parliament. He also spent some time in the Presidential Protection Unit, which today is part of the Special Forces Command in the UPDF.
