Scientists have successfully formed a hybrid human-monkey embryo  – with the experiment taking place in China to avoid “legal issues”. Researchers led by scientist Juan Carlos Izpisúa spliced together the genes to grow a monkey with human cells. It is said the creature could have grown and been born, but scientists aborted the process. The team, made up of members of the Salk Institute in the United States and the Murcia Catholic University, genetically modified the monkey embryos. Ronald Reagan made racist remarks about African delegates to the United Nations, calling them “monkeys” and saying they were still “uncomfortable wearing shoes”, newly released audio recordings have revealed. Dokolo Woman MP, Cecilia Ogwal, has told the Parliamentary Committee on Rules, Privileges and Discipline that the minister of Security Gen Elly Tumwine used a lot of anger and bitterness towards her and he nearly poked her eyes out. Two Ugandans have been killed in an attack by suspected rebels of National Salvation Front (NAS) of Lt Gen Thomas Cirilo. They were reportedly ambushed over the weekend and their car burnt along Kaya-Yei road. A man in Kalangala District has been handed a 30-year jail term for defiling his two biological daughters. Abdul Nyenje, 39, is a resident of Lwabaswa Island in Kalangala District. He was on Monday convicted and sentenced by Masaka Resident Judge, Ms Winfred Nabisinde on his own plea of guilt for defiling his nine and 14 year old daughters.
