    15 yr old Teen tests positive for COVID-19

    According to a statement dated 09/09/2020 by Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, one suspect who has been detained at Kawempe Police station has tested positive for COVID-19

    The suspect is a male juvenile aged 15, a resident of Bwaise was arrested on allegations of defiling of a three year old girl. The investigations into the alleged defilement were concluded and the suspect was produced at Nabweru court and remanded to juvenile remand home at Naguru.

    While at Naguru, the officials at the remand home demanded for a COVID-19 negative certificate before he could be admitted. Police took him for tests and the results came back positive.

    Police says the child is yet to be transferred to Entebbe Grade B Hospital for treatment.

    “Ministry of Health have today taken samples of all the staff, family members, all the suspects in custody for testing and will also started tracing for contacts of the victim. We are waiting for the results” says Police

    “Tomorrow the station and barracks will be disinfected. At the moment, we are not registering new cases at the station but attending to emergencies only” police adds
